Microsoft Loop for 1-on-1 meetings and collaboration
Use Microsoft Loop in 1-on-1 meetings and chats. Make it easy to find and add your notes, objectives and action items from previous discussions. The tips in this video show how to set up a Loop and reuse it.
One of the easiest ways to get started with Microsoft Loop is using it in Teams chat for one-on-one meetings. I frequently meet with Lora and I need to take notes often when I’m meeting with her, whether it be in one-on-one meetings or just discussions, and I want to keep it all our notes together in one place.
I created a Loop and shared it with Lora. I pin it to the top of our chat so I make it easier for us to find. I can jump directly to the Loop. I have given it a title, “1-on-1 meetings Darrell-Lora” so it makes it easy for me to find it in my OneDrive.
I have laid out the page so it’s simple to use for one-on-one meetings.
- I’ve got a table here for listing objectives. Using a table means I can add the columns like Objective, Description, Target date. I can also drag the rows into a different order to prioritise the objectives.
- I use a task list near the top of my Loop. I can open the Loop later and see the shared tasks. This is just a quick way to capture tasks. We can add them to a Planner or To-Do later.
- I have a section for meeting notes and use a heading style to show it’s a section.
- Each time we meet, I begin by adding a date component and choosing today’s date. I like that the date also displays relative to the day I view it. For example, I can see the last time we took notes during our meeting was 13 days ago
- I use bullet point notes. adding a bullet list component
I am developing a habit of taking notes with people during my 1-on-1 meetings. This is leading my team members to do the same. We are finding it helpful to recall what was discussed, capture tasks and set out objectives to achieve together. I’m starting to see greater adoption because it is a shared experience.
